National Inhalant Prevention Coalition Summary: The National Inhalant Prevention Coalition (NIPC) promotes awareness of the unreported and underreported problem of inhalant use. This site provides the latest information available about inhalant use and its impact. NIPC provides educational materials such as videos, urbanministry.org/education-literacy" class="" title="Education/Literacy Resources">teacher?s guides, and posters aimed at preventing inhalant use. In addition, it urbanministry.org/aids_panel" class="" title="AIDS Ministry Resources">aids other organizations and agencies to develop awareness campaigns in their communities and provides training to educators. Each March, NIPC leads the annual National Inhalants and Poisons Awareness Week to raise increased understanding of the extent of the problem of inhalant abuse and the risks associated with it.
Why does FASTEN recommend this resource? NIPC promotes awareness of inhalant abuse, a deadly problem whose seriousness is often underestimated. NIPC?s resource bank provides descriptions and ordering information for videos, posters, curricula, brochures and community prevention materials produced by NIPC and other organizations.
